🎄 Christmas Solitaire
Christmas Solitaire is a cosy Klondike solitaire card game with a festive twist. Play through snowy card layouts, stack every suit from Ace to King and clear the table before you run out of moves.
About Christmas Solitaire
This version of Christmas Solitaire follows the classic Klondike rules. Your goal is to move all 52 cards onto the four foundation piles, building each pile up in suit from Ace to King while managing the tableau columns and the stock pile.
The cards are decorated with Christmas colours and symbols, which makes it a relaxing seasonal game for both kids and adults who enjoy patience and card strategy.
How to play Christmas Solitaire
Basic rules
On the tableau you build cards down in rank and in alternating colours, while the foundations are built up in suit.
- Build the four foundations from Ace up to King in each suit.
- On the tableau, place a red card on a black card, or a black card on a red card, in descending order.
- You may move single cards or correctly ordered sequences that already alternate in colour.
- Only a King, or a sequence starting with a King, may be placed in an empty tableau space.
Stock and waste pile
When you run out of useful moves on the tableau, use the stock to draw new cards.
- Click the stock to turn over a card onto the waste pile.
- The top waste card can be moved to the tableau or directly to a foundation if it fits.
- Try to uncover face-down cards on the tableau before cycling through the stock too quickly.
Christmas Solitaire — Frequently Asked Questions
How do I win Christmas Solitaire?
You win when every card from the deck has been moved onto the four foundation piles in order, from Ace up to King in each suit. If no more legal moves are available and you still have cards left on the tableau or in the stock, the game is lost.
Can I move whole stacks of cards?
Yes. As long as the cards form a descending sequence in alternating colours, you can move the entire stack to another tableau column or onto an empty space if the top card is a King.
What happens when I run out of moves?
If you cannot see any legal moves on the tableau, draw from the stock. When both the tableau and stock offer no more moves and cards remain face up or face down on the table, the round is over.
Is every Christmas Solitaire deal winnable?
No. Like most Klondike versions, some starting layouts cannot be solved even with perfect play, because key cards are buried too deeply in the stock or under other cards.
